I’m very happy to announce the winners of my Korean food photo contest!
First, I really want to thank my 2 great sponsor companies Sempio and Assi. Without their on-going support, I wouldn’t be able to make this event successful!
In total we have 20 winners: 10 were chosen by a panel of prestigious judges from nearly 1000 photos posted to my photos page. The other 10 were chosen by my readers from 109 photos submitted for the contest. The grand prize for Judges’ selection went to the japchae photo submitted by Irene Loi and the grand prize for People’s choice went to Patricia Shin for her photo of jjinpang mandu (steamed pork buns).
I’m amazed that the winners are all over the world: Denmark, Brazil, Germany, Korea, Canada, the Netherlands, Singapore, Hong Kong, America, and Malaysia!
I’m happy to announce these winners, but I’m also worried that others may be disappointed. But as I always said, you should all be proud of your food. You might be a great cook, but not have a great camera, or be able to take a good photo. But your food can still be delicious!
So let’s give the 20 winners a big hand and congratulate them!
I hope you enjoy these photos! Check them out and get some good cooking ideas!
PS to winners: Not everybody has an avatar or photo, so I couldn’t display one for everybody on the winner’s page. If I don’t have one for you and you want one displayed on the page, please send it to me. I emailed you looking for your contact information to send you a prize. Please answer me by Oct. 25,2010. As I mentioned before, if you don’t submit your
mailing address, I will have to send your prize to the next winning entry.

Maangchi, this was such a fun contest! I feel honored that you even selected my photos to compete before the judges.
The photos that won were amazing, and the ones that didn’t, I’m sure, were just as tasty and nourishing as the rest. Thank you for all your hard work in setting up this contest!
It’s very nice of you to say that! I know you are so good at Korean cooking!

OF spain too…!
Bo,I agree with you! During the voting period, I was very nervous about many things: What if someone who doesn’t get many votes is disappointed? What if they are not encouraged to cook delicious homemade food anymore? …But now it’s done! I saw you leaving nice comments under your competitors’ photo entries. You are absolutely fantastic! Congratulations!
This was a fun/frustrating/fantastic contest!!! I know a bunch of pictures that didn’t win, I’ve actually contacted because from looking at their picture, I really wanted to make their dishes but also wanted their personal input. They looked so yummy. Congratulations everybody!
