At just 16 years old, Eichhorn has captured the attention of clubs like Manchester United, Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain. He's a defensive midfielder, already standing at an impressive 6'1", and he's making waves in Germany's football scene. In fact, he became the youngest player in the history of Germany’s second tier when he debuted just weeks after his 16th birthday!
His teammate, Fabian Reese, was clearly impressed, gushing that Eichhorn is an 'incredible, exceptional talent'. He went on to say that if Eichhorn keeps up the pace, the sky's the limit.
Eichhorn has already racked up seven league starts this season and is a regular for Germany’s U17 team.
But here's where it gets controversial... Eichhorn has been compared to the legendary Toni Kroos, a comparison that's even drawn a reaction from Kroos' own family. Felix Kroos, Toni's brother, has cautioned against these comparisons, highlighting that they aren't always helpful.
Kroos, who had his own successful playing career, believes Eichhorn should stay at Hertha for a few more years to continue his development. He suggests that a move to a club like Bayern Munich or Borussia Dortmund would be premature in the next two to four years.
Eichhorn is currently valued at around €6 million, but Kroos believes this could increase significantly if he stays at Hertha for a few more years.
Kroos admires Eichhorn's style of play, noting his calm demeanor and the valuable experience he's gaining. He also points out the importance of allowing young players to make mistakes and take breaks.
And this is the part most people miss... Eichhorn's release clause is valued between €10–12 million which can be triggered next year.
